Sabeel-Kairos staff

We have a small but dedicated staff team who are passionate about their work! Meet the team.

Charlotte Marshall – Director

Charlotte has worked for Sabeel-Kairos since 2014, originally as advocacy officer for the Kairos Britain network, then transferring her role to Sabeel-Kairos during the merger in 2016. Since then she has led the organisation’s advocacy work, in particular the Investing for Peace campaign. In 2021 she moved to become Director, taking on responsibility for the strategic direction of the organisation and the management of staff, in addition to continuing to  oversee the campaigning and advocacy work . Charlotte has 20 years experience in working on Palestinian human rights, 10 of those spent working with Christian Aid in various programme and communication roles before joining Sabeel-Kairos. She has a MSc in Conflict, Security and Development and also works as a freelance photographer. Charlotte works on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday and can be reached on

Ruth Thomas – Membership and Fundraising officer

We are delighted to welcome Ruth back to the Sabeel-Kairos team in this role! Previously Ruth worked as advocacy officer for our under 35s, and has continued to volunteer with us over the years since. She has now taken up the position as membership and fundraising officer.

Ruth completed two semesters of the online Certificate Program in Peacemaking and Justice in the Palestinian Context with Bethlehem Bible College and has learnt so much from Palestinian Christians and theologians over the past 5 years that she is passionate for Christians in the UK to hear their voices.  She enjoys making connections with all our members and supporters and would like each person who gives to Sabeel-Kairos to see themselves as a vital partner in this work of bringing a just peace to Palestine . She is also a qualified ESOL/EFL teacher and currently teaches a group of Afghan and Kurdish women English on two mornings a week.  She works part time for Sabeel-Kairos on a Tuesday and Thursday and can be reached on

Claire Thiel – Events and Campaigns officer

Claire is the newest member of the team and will be overseeing Events and Campaigns.

Claire is a Counsellor with a private Counselling practise, has a BA in Applied Theology and spent many years managing a Community Coffee Shop in South London.

Claire first visited Palestine in 1991 and then spent 2 years working in Children’s homes in Bethlehem. A love for the Palestinian people was born and grew, and Claire is now excited to be part of a work that campaigns tirelessly for justice and the rights of those who are oppressed.

Claire loves hospitality; which she learnt the art of at the tender age of 18 in the West Bank, and is looking forward to using some of those skills in planning events and bringing people together. Other things she loves are baking, walking the dog by the sea and embarrassing her children when on holiday practising her pidgeon Arabic.
